What really happening here is that there is an unordered list of villagers that determines which one is next to claim a workstation. The best thing you can do is find out which villager is the next one to take the workstation and place it in from of that villager. Keep doing that one at a time until you get all the villagers you have.They need to be linked to a bed, but don't require access to it, only access to their work station. So you'll need to replace the bed you broke and make sure they link to it. You can legit have one bed for your entire trading area, as long as they're all linked to it.
